9 minutes
Commissioned by Ensemble:39
Bone Chinoiserie and the Alabastard Cowboy was written for Ensemble 39. The music is inspired by cinematic forms experimented with during the New Hollywood era as well as by filmmakers such as Michelangelo Antonioni and Quentin Tarantino. The piece is uniquely western in style and appropriates no known forms of style peculiar to the supposed sounds of the Old American West.
